The KVMS Points System for 2010
Have you got the 2010 KVMS POINTS RACES card yet? If not, and you're interested, pick one up at the KVMS office (113 E Washington St., Suite 8), or from one of our sponsor locations. If you're not in the Kirksville neighborhood, call Allen Goans at 660.349.0882 and he'll mail one to you.
Here is how "the points" are calculated:
Race winning time = 10 points (men vs. men / women vs. women)
Participants finish time is % of winning time.
93.5% = 9.35 points
80% = 8.0 points
3 points for age group 1st
2 points for age group 2nd
1 point for age group 3rd
2 points for participation*
*There are 12 select races (see card) that will be eligible for points. Overall points are calculated with your best 8 finishes. You can score 2 bonus points per race you finish above 8 races.
NOTE: It is possible to have a slower time, but score more points than someone faster, by placing better in your age group.
