2010 Membership Drive

2010 is almost here, and with the new year brings progress to KIRKSVILLE MULTISPORT. We are establishing a membership roster with a $10 annual membership fee. All members will be included in the KVMS Point Series and awards will be given out at the end of the 2010 series. Members will also receive discounts from sponsors as they become available.

Contact Allen Goans at KIRKSVILLE MULTISPORT for your membership package. You can join anytime throughout the year, however, you can only score points in the series from the date of your paid membership. FYI, the first points race is the Frostbite 5K in Kirksville on February 13, 2010.  See points series schedule below.

See you at the races.

The KVMS Points System for 2010

Have you got the 2010 KVMS POINTS RACES card yet? If not, and you're interested, pick one up at the KVMS office (113 E Washington St., Suite 8), or from one of our sponsor locations. If you're not in the Kirksville  neighborhood, call Allen Goans at 660.349.0882 and he'll mail one to you.

Here is how "the points" are calculated:

Race winning time = 10 points (men vs. men / women vs. women)

Participants finish time is % of winning time.

EXAMPLE
97% = 9.70 points
93.5% = 9.35 points
80% = 8.0 points

BONUS POINTS
5 points for overall win
3 points for age group 1st
2 points for age group 2nd
1 point for age group 3rd
2 points for participation*

*There are 12 select races (see card) that will be eligible for points. Overall points are calculated with your best 8 finishes.  You can score 2 bonus points per race you finish above 8 races.

EXAMPLE
If you finish 10 races you will score 4 bonus participation points.

NOTE:  It is possible to have a slower time, but score more points than someone faster, by placing better in your age group.
