2010 Points Races

We at KIRKSVILLE MULTISPORT are working on a points race schedule. We're picking 12 area races that we will tally points from and have an awards presentation at the end of 2010. Points will be kept at all 12 races based on results, but only your top 8 races will count towards the final standings. There will also be bonus points for participation given out at all 12 races. So you can move up by running extra races.

We are finalizing actual race dates and how the points will be calculated. Races will vary from 5k's to marathons, duathlon to triathlons. Check back soon, 2010 will be a great time be a part of KIRKSVILLE MULTISPORT.

Indianapolis Marathon

KIRKSVILLE MULTISPORT was well represented at the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon last weekend. With ten runners from the Kirksville area, we put two on the podium, two others got engaged, the rest had mixed success.

The scenic course was flat, but with the wind on the return half, the times were a little slower than expected. That being said, John Richardson and Bob Keough led the field of 55-59 men to take first and second. More hardware for the trophy case. Former Kirksville resident Gavin White posted a PR marathon but narrowly missed qualifying for Boston.

On the women's side, both Jen Bubel and Jodi Berman had great races. Both ladies met their Indianapolis goals. After completing her first marathon, Sarah Ignash was met at the finish line by boyfriend George Wescott and a diamond ring.

The remainder of the KIRKSVILLE MULTISPORT runners enjoyed the weekend but are ready to set their mind on the next event. There is always next time.

Track Night TONIGHT!

Fall is in the air and we're still having Tuesday Track Night and Thursday Night Group Run. Tonight will be a light workout because so many of our runners will be running the Indianapolis Marathon this weekend. It's a beautiful day... and will be a perfect night to join us at the track.  Good luck to all the KIRKSVILLE MULTISPORT runners going to Indy!
